Flier Carols 400

Enjoy the final event of Winter’s Eve 2022

Carols will be sung in four locations – and, like a Pied Piper’s entourage, you are welcome to follow the singers as they make their way around the village. The times and locations are as follows:

Thursday, 15 December

• 6.00pm Green railings before the turning for the Church/Bush (Pinklands/The Lodge)
• 6.20pm Telephone box
• 6.40pm No Man’s Land / Pump Garden
• 7.00pm Green on the Crescent

Carols will include:
• Hark, the herald angels
• O come all ye faithful
• Away in a manger
• Once In Royal David’s City
• Silent night
• Jingle bells
• We wish you a merry Christmas
• Ding dong merrily on high

Please take care:
• Wrap up warm
• Be visible
• Bring a torch (so you can be seen and also to read the lyrics!)

The singers

Aled Powys Williams

Aled is a graduate of the RWCMD, Cardiff a Classical Brit Award Winner and former member of Only Men Aloud who won the BBC’s Last Choir Standing competition. He has performed roles ranging from Dan Cairo in 'Carmen' to Jesus in 'Godspell'. His radio and television credits include Friday Night is Music Night, Later...with Jools Holland, Last Night of the Proms, Children in Need, Heno and Noson Lawen. Other highlights include performing at the Royal Variety Performance (London Palladium), the 2010 Ryder Cup Opening Concert (Millennium Stadium) and performing the World Premiere of ‘Mr. Dahl’ alongside Michael Sheen and Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra (St. David’s Hall). Aled has worked extensively for The Aloud Charity and has been part of the team since its inception. In 2013, Aled was privileged to conduct Only Boys Aloud alongside Katherine Jenkins in the finale of the Coronation Festival at Buckingham Palace.

Robert Young

Robert has been performing as a musician for more than 25 years. He has trained as a concert pianist, opera singer and teacher. During the week Robert works as a music teacher, IT consultant and support worker - a busy life but a varied one as was always his wish. Robert also performs with Aled for the charity ‘Lost chord’, which provides music for people with dementia across the UK.
