This section contains details of where to stay and eateries in & around the village
There are 2 B&Bs in the village (The Stables and The Garn) and a hotel in Cowbridge (The Bear). See the separate Accommodation link on the information page.
The obvious focus of eating and drinking in St Hilary is the Bush Inn, a historic 16th Century thatched roof pub with flagstone floors and inglenook fireplaces as well as exposed oak beams. A pub full of charm and atmosphere with very friendly staff. It has won many awards and was the location for BBC Sherlock's Hound of the Baskervilles episode.
Just out of the village, left along the A48 are the Bryn Owain, a formula chain pub and the Mughal Emperor, a high quality Indian restaurant.
Aberthin has two pubs that both provide food: the Hare and Hounds, which has an award winning high-quality restaurant and the Farmers Arms, which serves very good pub food.
Cowbridge has a wide range of eating and drinking places - see the Cowbridge food page.
And there's a farmers' market in Cowbridge every Saturday morning.
