Traffic and road issues in the village

At the January 2018 Forum meeting, the issue of problems with traffic and poor road conditions was raised.

As a result, the Forum prepared a report which was made available to villagers.  It was then sent in April 2018 to the Operational Manager for Highways and Engineering at the Vale of Glamorgan Borough Council for comment and response.

We received the 1st response, which was about safety, in June 2018.  As the response did not cover issues like the condition of the roads and signage, we asked for a further response.  Despite several reminders, we did not hear anything so we raised a complaint which was escalated to stage 2 in December 2018. We eventually received a 2nd response in January 2019 which was about white line markings.  As that did not cover all the points, we raised a further complaint.  We received a 3rd and final response in February 2019.

Unfortunately, the only outcome are new road markings and two small brown bi-lingual signs thanking people for not dropping litter.

The paperwork is too detailed and voluminous to put on the website, but you are most welcome to have an electronic copy.  There are 11 files and a mixture of pdfs and Word files.  Please let me know if you would like to see them.
