Village Fete (15 July 2017)

Villagers Fete 170715 med
What an amazing success! Fun, fun, fun, and rain, rain, rain!

A huge thanks to everyone who helped out and pitched in. What a truly community event it turned out to be.

Between us we managed to raise approximately £1,000 for the care and repair of our little old village hall.

Thanks to: every stall holder; to all the bakers for the delicious cakes; the team who served up teas and coffees and big respect to the marquee construction and deconstruction crew.  Thanks to the fabulous storytellers who enthralled the younger children, and to the Coed Hills Community for so much input and delicious food etc. Thanks to Simon and the pony Misty for doing rides in the rain! Thanks to the amazing team who ploughed on with children's races in the rain. Hugely enjoyable - look at the photos on Facebook if you don't believe how much fun the whole afternoon was.

(and feel free to add photos and videos if you are a member of St Hilary Chit Chat)

Everyone who we asked for help - delivered! From loaning marques and tents to delivering hay bales. A big thanks to the Bush Pub (the best pub in the Vale) for sponsoring the Face Painting and hosting hilarious karaoke. So many items were donated and so much time given generously. To the family and friends of the organisers - thanks for running stalls and showing support. Lastly but by no means least....... thanks to the Ukulele ensemble who cheered us up by playing and singing in the rain and getting the fete underway - you are all stars!! 'Bring me Sunshine' was an ironic favourite.

So all-in-all a great success thanks to so many of you and the Village Hall Committee.
