Produce market success (October 2016)

produceday sm The St Hilary Produce market held on Sunday was an enormous success. Jams, chutneys and pickles were purchased to enjoy later or for gifts. The cakes, pies and crumbles went down well and many stopped by for a tea and coffee so that they could enjoy the home-made cakes. Cartons of soup were available for the first time this year, which were very popular.
Many children and adults had a go at making their own apple juice with the fruit press. There was lots of variety which helped to generate £535 for village funds to help progress various projects – e.g. the proposed adoption of the village telephone box, a new village notice board, improvements to the track to the Clump and, of course, next year's Bake Off.

We would to thank everyone who supported the event either by contributing fruit and vegetables, making chutneys and jams, baking, helping on the day or dropping in to buy produce. We couldn't have done it without you!
