St Hilary Logo Design Competition! (16 January 2018)

At the initial meeting of the St Hilary Forum an idea was put forward that the St Hilary community should have a logo.  As the Forum's gestation period is over, we're now ready to run a competition for a logo which will be available to use for village activities, social media and virtually any material connected with the village.

It's an exciting chance for all you artists to create a design and to get the glory of your design being the emblem of the village and its community.
There are 2 categories:
1. Children: Residents or their children or their grandchildren of school age
2. Adults: Everybody else, including those who work in the village
The closing date is Friday, 12 January 2018.
2 entries from each category will be shortlisted by a panel made up of representatives from village organisations and independent experts.

The 4 shortlisted entries will then be voted on by residents at the St Hilary Forum Public Meeting being planned for 16 January (more about that in due course).

Submitted logos will be judged on the basis of creativity, visual interest, appeal and the representation of the nature of the community of St Hilary and its environment.

Competition Rules

Entries should be submitted both on an A4 document and as a photograph of sufficient resolution to be printed as an A4 document. If a photograph is not possible, the entry must be on A4 paper and then please contact the Co-ordinator (see below) who will arrange for a photograph to be taken.
Entries must include the name, age and address of the entrant.

Entrants must be resident in the ward of St Hilary or involved in a St Hilary organisation or work in St Hilary.

Copyright of the designs will remain with St Hilary Forum (apologies for this legal bit). The Forum might decide to run another competition after three years. The Forum reserves the right not to use any of the designs submitted and also reserves the right to alter or re-work any winning images to better suit the needs of the community.

Entries must be sent to the Co-ordinator by Tuesday, 2 January 2018:
  • A4 document by hand or post: Terry Dennis, St Hilary Forum Co-ordinator, Ffynnon Wen, St Hilary CF71 7DP
  • Photograph by email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
Judging by the independent panel will take place in week commencing 8 January.
Voting for the 4 shortlisted entries will take place at the Forum meeting on Tuesday, 16 January 2018.
